How we research recommendations
Seen & Stamped recommendation
Most stamps on Seen & Stamped come from travellers who’ve been there. Some places are added by our team from research instead, so the guide can cover a place before a traveller has stamped it. These carry the “Seen & Stamped recommendation” label, so you always know which is which.
What we look at
- Published coverage, such as newspapers and travel and dining guides.
- Customer, guest and visitor reviews.
- For some places, a traveller’s published travel vlog. We credit them by name.
What the label means
- It isn’t a personal visit by us or by a traveller.
- No one pays to be included.
- Each researched stamp lists its sources where we have them.
When travellers visit
Anyone who has been can add their experience to a researched stamp. Their experiences appear on the stamp and count towards its overall verdict.
